BB Copper Sun is a Full Am. Bashkir Curly (1557 F) He is also...

  • gaited

  • gentle

  • kind

Copper Sun is Double Registered with the American Gaited Horse Association. As well as being a full breeding stallion, he is a working horse, too. He is ridden on trails- in both large and small groups. He has shown successfully at halter and pleasure classes. He has also competed in endurance rides.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Copper Sun has been in several parades, including the 2000 and 2003 Tournament of Roses Parades. He received the 2002 AVDR Champion Western Pleasure in 3 gait, and the Res. Champion in English Pleasure 2 gait. Also in 2002 he was the ABCR National Horse Show Champion. In 2004 he received the ABCR FRP Res. Championship. His most recent championship is the ABCR 2006 Gymkhana Champion! (Not bad for a gaited horse!) He has been written up in publications, the most recent is The Curly Horse Journal, to be in publication in March 2007. You can read more about his gaits in "The Fabulous Floating Horses".

Copper Sun was a foundation stallion.

Awarded ABCR Hall of Fame for both breeding and performance categories in 2012.

On Aug. 19, 2014, Copper Sun was laid to rest. He is now in horse heaven, eating all the grass he can, playing in fields, and running with horse herds, with no fences to stop him. God be with him till we meet again.
